This is the 15th season of the Queer Urban Orchestra! Over the past few years, this organization has grown exponentially, and has been elevating the concert experience for our audience. We have had the chance to perform in new spaces, as well as work with amazing artists such as Jasmine Rice LaBeija, Ariadne Greif, Ryan Roberts, Andrew Yee, and that was just the last two seasons!

This season will be featuring acclaimed soloist Sasha Romero (principal trombonist of the Met Opera Orchestra) and a premiere of a new work by Rajna Swaminathan, written especially for QUO! Also, we will be having our very first QUOfest in March, which will be a weekend long concert series featuring not only our full orchestra concert, but also a chamber concert, a sound bath, and a family concert! In May, QUO will play Mahler's 1st Symphony, for the first time in our history. June will bring a jubilant end of the season with our annual Gala, featuring special guest conductor Andrea Profili. There is a lot happening this season, and you definitely don't want to miss out!

We have an ambitious goal of raising $20,000 for this campaign, and we can only do it with support from you!

QUO was founded in July 2009 as planning meetings started for NYC’s first orchestra specifically serving the LGBTQ community. Our first season kicked off with our Debut Concert on December 5, 2009, for which we began rehearsing on September 16, 2009. Since our inaugural concert our membership has grown to 60 musicians, and our collaborative effort with the Danspace Project have resulted in praise from the New York Times.
