The Readlyn community is coming together to support the construction of a new Emergency Services Building that will house both the Readlyn Fire Department and Readlyn Emergency Services (EMS). With the project in its early stages, community members are being called upon to lend their support through both financial contributions and advocacy.

The need for a new facility stems from several critical factors that affect the effectiveness and safety of our emergency services. The current building limitations pose challenges in accommodating essential equipment and personnel, hindering our ability to provide optimal emergency response and support during critical situations.

Key Benefits of the New Building Include:

- Increased Space: The new facility will provide ample room for new trucks and equipment, reducing the need to purchase expensive specially-sized or used equipment.

- Expanded Locker Space: With limited locker space, the fire department is restricted to only 24 active members on the roster. Additionally, the lack of space for personal gear and equipment for the EMS crew has presented challenges, particularly during the pandemic.

- Improved Accessibility: The new building will offer improved accessibility, addressing current limitations and ensuring smoother operations during emergency responses and community gatherings.

- Modern Amenities: Upgraded facilities such as showers, gender-split restrooms, and an improved kitchen will enhance the comfort and functionality of the building, making it a safer and more welcoming space for both emergency personnel and community members.

- HIPAA Compliance: Enhanced facilities will make it easier to meet HIPAA compliance requirements, ensuring the confidentiality and security of patient information.

- Expanded Training Space: The new building will provide ample indoor and outdoor training space, reducing the need to close main streets for training exercises and minimizing risks to emergency personnel.
