At the Rocky Mountain School of Expeditionary Learning, learning is a journey—one that stretches far beyond classroom walls. Every day, students learn by doing: exploring the outdoors, engaging in hands-on projects, and building the confidence that comes from real-world experiences. This year, we are setting out on an important expedition of our own: a $120,000 fundraising goal to strengthen the foundation that makes this kind of learning possible.

These funds will directly support the heart of our school. They will empower teachers with grants for professional development, classroom resources, and meaningful experiential learning opportunities that go beyond what standard budgets allow. They will help us replace outdated curriculum with current, research-based, culturally relevant materials that reflect our students and prepare them for today’s world.

Our goal also supports the adventure that defines who we are. Upgraded outdoor gear will ensure students can participate safely and confidently on crew trips and field expeditions. Improvements to the look and feel of our building will create a space that reflects pride, belonging, and inspiration the moment students walk through the doors. And a reliable gear van will keep our learning mobile—able to reach trailheads, field sites, and experiences that can’t happen without it.
