About Us: The Brain Cancer Research Alliance

At the Brain Cancer Research Alliance, our mission is simple yet profound: to raise awareness and funding for brain cancer research to bring hope and help to the nearly 1 million people impacted by brain tumors. Every dollar raised goes directly to advancing research and discovering new treatments.

Our story began when Nolan Hsu, a healthy 30-something, experienced a puzzling symptom—he heard music that wasn’t playing. Listening to his body, he sought medical advice, and an MRI revealed a brain tumor: an oligodendroglioma.

The diagnosis was life-changing. With the support of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Nolan underwent an awake craniotomy on September 7, 2021. The surgery achieved a full resection, and his cancer was classified as stage 2, granting him precious time. But our search for treatment options exposed a harsh reality: brain cancer research is vastly underfunded, leaving patients with limited, decades-old therapies.

We’re determined to change that. The Brain Cancer Research Alliance, founded by the Hsu Family, is dedicated to advancing innovative treatments and giving hope to those fighting brain tumors. With your support, we can make a meaningful impact.

WHERE THE MONEY GOES

All of our donations go directly to brain cancer research. We do this by partnering with organizations such as the University of Florida Brain Cancer Research Center, Dana Farber Cancer Research Center and the National Brain Tumor Society.
