Waste Less Solutions is a Utah based nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the education, prevention, and diversion of food waste in Utah. We were founded with the drive to reduce the methane emissions of food waste that is 25 times worse for our environment than carbon dioxide. As well as to re-distribute the surplus edible food (roughly 600,000 tons) to the 400,000-food insecure in Utah.

Food waste is the third best solution to reverse greenhouse gasses and it is the best solution individuals can take for the biggest impact. With that we are hosting our third annual Second Chance Dance as a large scale education event to help people be part of the solution.

Everything about the event will be sustainably focused. Chefs will cook with rescued food, attire is thrifted or vintage clothing, and the silent auction is filled with sustainable brands working to make the world a little more sustainable. The goal is to be fun, and that people will leave having learned more about food waste and hopefully be a base to build larger food waste events in the future.
