Our mission is to empower young, capable, and vulnerable children in rural Ghana to lead happy, healthy lives. We provide a safe place for children to learn, be nourished, grow, and gather together. Our community-driven approach aims to break the cycle of generational poverty, one child at a time.

We see a world where Mako's proven impact scales with multifaceted programs that advance our current efforts and address multi-generational challenges. Our future includes plans to develop the first of its kind community center in over 73 kilometers, meeting the critical and unmet needs of hundreds of children who seek our support and struggle daily to survive.

We are fundraising to support critical programs for at risk children and begin building a community center to expand our impact. Much like the region we serve in Hohoe, Ghana, Santa Barbara is community driven and full of heart. This event will gather our local community at the beautiful Presidio Orchard with live music by The Ewe Drumming Group of Santa Barbara, a silent auction, food curated by local chef Coco LaForge with The Santa Barbara Chef Collective, local beer and wine along with great company to advance an amazing community 7,500 miles away.
