SELF has served as Philadelphia's largest provider of emergency and temporary housing for the past four decades. SELF has worked tirelessly to end homelessness in Philadelphia and believes that individuals have the right to safe, affordable, permanent housing; earn a livable wage; be connected to family; be connected to the community; and achieve success as defined by their personal goals and aspirations.

Our expanded youth programming aims to address the growing issue of youth homelessness comprehensively and sustainably. Our inaugural gala will help SELF provide youth with a secure environment and an array of supportive services to foster personal growth, education, development, and support.

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue, SELF's Inaugural Gala "SELF in the City, Presented by Highmark Blue Shield," will honor Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker, former Philadelphia Mayor and SELF Chairman Rev. Dr. W. Wilson Goode Sr., Philadelphia Building Trades Assistant Business Manager Butch Bennett, Always Best Care Senior Services of Philadelphia and Delaware Founder, Owner/Administrator Bryant Greene, and William Way LGBT Community Center Executive Director Christopher Bartlett for their contributions to helping the unhoused maintain support and permanent, affordable housing.

Starting at 6 p.m., this will be an epic night of generosity, love, and empowerment.
