Summer Stock Austin 2025

Hi my name is Blaine Lovett and I’m an upcoming Junior at Dripping Springs High school! Theater and performing on stage has been a dream of mine since I was 3 years old (let's just say I drive my mom a little crazy with all the singing around the house). The theater has given me most of my friends and connections in this world, and has given me a place to let out the itch that I've always had to be on stage and tell stories. When people ask me why I do theater l like to turn to the opening lyric from the song What I Did for Love from A Chorus Line, "Kiss today goodbye, the sweetness and the sorrow. Wish me luck, the same to you. But I can't regret what I did for love.". This song is so meaningful to me because I feel like it perfectly encapsulates the feeling of deep love and connection that actors and actresses share with the theater, that if they had to stop what they loved tomorrow, they wouldn't regret a single moment they spent working and telling stories for their communities and the world. I feel as if more theater and art is what we need in the world right now, and I couldn't be more passionate about what I love. In short, theater is my home. I will never find another like it.
