The novelist Neil Gaiman said, "A book is a dream that you hold in your hand." For children who live in poverty or experience financial hardship, books are often their only way to travel, explore other cultures, and gain exposure to pathways and opportunities.

Books enable students to learn, equip them to do, and dare them to dream. This year at A Night for the Network, we celebrate reading!

We invite you to support the Student Support Network's annual fundraising event, the proceeds of which get basic necessities (books included!) into the hands of Baltimore County Public School students, where and when they need them.

The Network is a one-of-a-kind essential resource in Baltimore County, where now 66% of BCPS students live in families with income so limited they qualify for free and reduced meals. While their in-school meals may be provided free of charge, they still struggle to afford the tools needed to complete their work -- the work of learning -- well and with pride. Reading has no doubt helped shape the person you've become. We encourage you to embrace this opportunity to pay it forward to tomorrow's leaders and help them turn the page to a new chapter where anything is possible.
