What: The goal for 2023 is to raise money for 2024 artist grants in which SBI can cover annual healthcare premiums for working artists that have to get health insurance through the marketplace. Details: Tim Reisert (Cincinnati), Shadwick Wilde (Louisville), and Super City (Baltimore) will all be performing at a night that will feature live raffle items and an online auction. In-house food will be provided by The Redmoor. The event will begin at 6pm and end at 10pm. Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased by clicking here. Reserved seating is also available. About: SofaBurn Inc was founded in 2020 when members noticed a need for artists to have support with healthcare costs to continue working post-pandemic. With most independent artists having to carry insurance through the marketplace, the cost of healthcare when serious needs arise can inhibit their ability to continue working. Since its inception, SBI has helped over 30 artists with a total healthcare savings of $15,000.00. In 2023 alone, it has helped 14 artists with a total of $4,675.00 in savings. In one instance, they were able to help an artists have an $87,000.00 healthcare debt removed through financial education.
