The Woodville Historical Society, founded in 2012, is dedicated to locating, collecting, preserving, and sharing the stories that make our community unique. Our all-volunteer group works hard to protect Woodville’s past, celebrate its present, and ensure its history can be enjoyed for generations to come. Everyone is welcome—our monthly meetings are open to the community and announced in local and social media.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters over the last two years, we were able to purchase the software needed to catalog every item in our museum collection. We are thrilled to share that this important work is now underway. Cataloging not only protects our artifacts, but also makes it possible to share Woodville’s history more widely with future generations. We are deeply grateful for the community support that made this possible.

This winter, we invite you to continue that momentum during our online Silent Auction, running November 30–December 13 on GiveButter. Every bid helps us continue our mission, especially as we take on a major and urgent restoration of our downtown museum building. The building—one of Woodville’s original structures—now needs a complete exterior facelift, with a cost of $22,000 for the façade alone. In the near future, the building will also require a new flat roof. Although we do not yet have an exact estimate, we know it will be a significant expense due to the type of roof and the specialized work needed. These repairs are essential, as ongoing leaks threaten both the building and the artifacts entrusted to our care.

We are proud to help support Woodville’s annual Syttende Mai celebration, and we continue to share the village’s story through publications like our Sesquicentennial Book (2021) and Centennial Book, available for purchase individually or together.
