Today, Armenia is facing an education crisis. Across the country, academic performance is declining and there are hundreds of vacancies for teaching positions. According to the World Bank, children born in Armenia today will be nearly 40% less productive during their lives due to the lack of quality education.

Teach For Armenia works to improve the quality of education in Armenia by recruiting and training recent university graduates and professionals to teach in rural public schools for two years. Our program participants, called Teacher-Leaders, fill critical teacher vacancies and bring new approaches to education to underserved communities.

As of September 2024, Teach For Armenia places over 150 Teacher-Leaders in every region of Armenia. Collectively, our Teacher-Leaders reach more than 30,000 public schools students. Since launching in 2015, our network of Alumni-Ambassadors has grown to include over 400 people.
