Today, we invite you to be part of an exciting and meaningful project: the construction of a Street Hockey Arena in our neighborhood.

For many young people in our community, access to safe recreational spaces is limited. A street hockey arena will provide more than just a place to play—it will be a positive outlet for physical activity, teamwork, discipline, and mentorship. This arena will serve as a hub where youth can build confidence, stay active, and form healthy relationships under the guidance of caring adults and volunteers.

ThruGuidance is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization in good standing that has been operating for over 14 years, where it works to destroy barriers of poverty and cycles of violence in underserved communities. ThruGUIDANCE is a black female-led and founded organization by Kendal R. Troutman in 2011. We provide quality education and recreational activities through various programs/projects that support the personal growth of youth and social development of underserved communities.

Our mission is to offer young people, in vibrant yet under-resourced environments, access to ice sports and academic assistance while cultivating community pride and belonging. We provide one program, 24° of Color: A Diversity Ice Skating Program, and a mission project, Rwanda for Education both of which are rooted in a commitment to community collaboration and promoting positive change for young people in high-need communities. We work thoughtfully to provide loving, positive environments for young people to express their individuality through the holistic development of healthy minds, bodies, and spirits.
