Did you know that more than 23,000 kids will age out of foster care this year—becoming instantly homeless on their 18th birthdays? For “Grace,” the odds are stacked against her. After aging out of foster care, “Grace” is 1 in 4 times likely to drop out of school and 7 in 10 times likely to become pregnant, relying on welfare, increasing the odds that her own child will experience foster care one day. Here at Saving Grace, we see first-hand the benefits of “Grace” practicing independent living in a safe and supportive environment, where she has the opportunity to heal and make healthy choices for herself—sometimes for the first time in her life after leaving survival mode. We need YOUR help empowering "Grace" on her journey to independence and breaking the cycle of generational poverty.
