Who We Are

VETCON began in 2018 when a few friends in the Cyber Security industry wanted to meet up and host a networking event for their fellow hacker/veteran buddies. At the time, the Cyber Security industry had support groups and events focused on a variety of niche groups, but none focused on service men and women thus, VETCON was born. VETCON is held annually during DEFCON and has now become one of the largest events within the DEFCON convention.

Milton Security (now ThreatHunter.ai) and Cyber Defense Technologies are both owned and led by the VETCON founders, who are US veterans (USCG, USMC, and USAF). They have a passion for giving back to the veteran community and since their incorporation, both organizations focus on hiring veterans first, as it is a core value. Because of their backgrounds, veterans are highly skilled, well-trained, and are a tight knit enclave within the hacker community.

Who We Are Raising Money For

K9s For Warriors is the nation’s largest veteran service organization focused on providing highly trained Service Dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and/or military sexual trauma.

The majority of the K9s are rescued from shelters. In saving these animals from abandonment or euthanasia, we give them purpose. Each pair who graduates from our program represent two lives saved – the Service Dog and the Warrior.
