Make sure to join us on May 2, 2026 at the 8:00 AM start line on the Woodstock Hill Common and at the finish line at Taylor Brooke Brewery starting at 12:00 PM.

What started as one runner's creative response to a pandemic has blossomed into a beloved community tradition. In 2020, when the world shut down due to COVID-19 and marathons went virtual, Seana Weaver saw both a challenge and an opportunity. Her planned marathon had been canceled, but the need in her community was growing. The Community Kitchens of Northeastern Connecticut was responding to unprecedented demand, and Seana knew she could help.

Working with her sister Jessica, Seana mapped out a 26.2-mile route through the beautiful roads and hills of Woodstock and ran the marathon solo—raising funds for CKNECT in both 2020 and 2021. What began as a grassroots effort to support neighbors in need quickly grew into something bigger.

In 2022, we opened the marathon to more runners, and it became an EVENT! The community answered the call in extraordinary ways. Fraser, Joyce, and Christina joined the Board of Directors to help make the marathon happen. SInce the beginning small farms -- including Valleyside Creamery, Farm to Table Market, and Taylor Brooke Farm -- local businesses like Body by Design and Woodstock Building Associates and WINY radio have stepped up with generous support. We've learned firsthand that it really does take a community to run a marathon.

Since 2020, the Woodstock CT Marathon has raised more than $40,000 for Community Kitchens and other local charities, thanks to dedicated runners, countless volunteers, and the incredible support of our Quiet Corner community.

This year, we're continuing to raise funds to support the work of Community Kitchens of Northeastern Connecticut. Community Kitchens builds spaces to nourish the community by providing free meals to everyone at multiple sites across Northeastern Connecticut, made possible through the efforts of incredibly dedicated volunteers.
