Welcome to the To Gather Collective online auction! It's great to see you here! We're a collective of artists working with other artists to help raise funds for urgent causes (food access, medical care) across the Congo, Sudan, and Palestine.

This auction runs from September 13th to October 11th and features art works and participatory offerings from Robert Chase Heishman, Aram Atiman of Easy Tiger Astrology, Dream Cake Test Kitchen, Chicago Meat Collective, Daniel Delgado, kelechi agwuncha, and the olfactory collaboration of Laura Oberwetter and Caleb Vanden Boom.

Proceeds will specifically support aid work with trusted in-community organizations and organizers. These include the Chicago Greater Sudanese Association, Focus Congo, and Dahnoun Mutual Aid. Dahnoun Mutual Aid provides daily water distribution to 350 families in Northern Gaza. The Greater Chicago Sudanese Association provides food supplies to several kitchens in the city of Sennar and partners with on the ground Sudanese humanitarian organizations to deliver essential aid. Focus Congo works across education, arts, health and disaster relief providing immediate and essential aid.

Please help us get as close as possible to raising 15K in support for families and communities across Gaza, Sudan, and the Congo. There are multiple ways to support this aid effort if winning an auction item is not your jam. These include donating directly on our Give Butter Page, and sharing it with people you're confident would love to donate or participate in the auction. We appreciate every act of sharing and giving to help make this goal achievable.

ABOUT US:

It started at the kitchen table. Reflecting on when tables have been sites of restoration, respite, and rigor. Gathering is often a response to scarcity and is where we can find nourishment— utilizing what we have, thinking creatively, and being fed literally and figuratively.

Overwhelmed by stats like the cost of an onion climbing as high as 1733% in Gaza, as reported by the famine monitoring agency FEWS NET, we’ve been thinking about how the conditions of genocide through famine seek to undo communal and familial histories of restoration, respite, and rigor.

To Gather is a mutual aid effort looking to generate sustainable models to mobilize across urgent causes. How can we help move community resources effectively? Engage in cohesive acts of solidarity that can support care and self determination efforts, and ultimately support the act of gathering? Utilizing different methods within our networks and industries we seek to compel those around us to join in on this journey.

Our first initiative with our peers is to assist in raising 15K for families and communities across Gaza, Sudan, and the Congo. To meet this goal, we’re hosting a dinner, live auction, online raffle, (and now an online auction!)
