Hello Friends,

Our nation is in the midst of a mental health crisis. With at least one mass shooting every day in our country, there is an urgent need to address the root causes of these problems. One of which we know is childhood trauma.

Dara, Thaisan, and Molly have joined forces to make a difference in the lives of adolescents who are at-risk of dropping out of school, joining gangs, and engaging in criminal activities. Our goal is to work with teachers and their students to address trauma and remediate its impact on our youth. Dara and Thaisan, both of whom were formerly incarcerated for 20 years, know firsthand the impact of childhood trauma and poor decisions.

We are forming a non-profit educational consulting firm called STREET CRED EDUCATION CONSULTANTS, INC. Our mission is to help educators understand and address childhood trauma in the classroom. Dara and Thaisan are dedicated to sharing their lived experiences with our nation's youth to ensure they do not make the same dangerous mistakes they made in their teen years that led them to prison.

We are asking for contributions to help us with start up costs involved in creating this organization. Our initial start up costs include establishing our 501c3 status ($600), creating our Maryland non profit ($350), and hiring a web site designer, graphic artist, and content creator ($1000+). This will help us get up and running!

We want to offer you something tangible for your donation and hope you enjoy the artwork on this site. There are also options to simply donate. No amount is too small. And, we promise to do our best to make our communities safer and our youth healthier.

PS: I have had a few people ask HOW we will make a difference. Great question. Our first goal is to establish the 501c3 and develop a website and other promotional materials. A longer goal plan (next 2-5 years) is to begin presenting at schools and in communities across the country to help teachers better understand trauma and the impact of trauma in our schools. Teachers need to be equipped to understand the connection between trauma and behavior and how to address this connection. With curriculum development, workshops, and professional development, we will get our message out there and inform change!
