Why We Created the Alive Now Foundation

Paul Daniels was a successful businessman, husband, and father. Then a severe bipolar episode changed everything.

What followed was a traumatic journey through hospitals, addiction, incarceration, recovery, and rebuilding a life that had been turned upside down. Like many families navigating serious mental illness and addiction, Paul discovered that finding the right support at the right time is often far more difficult than it should be.

That experience became the foundation for both his memoir, Alive Now!, and the Alive Now Foundation.

Today, our mission is simple:

To help ensure that fewer individuals and families fall through the cracks.

We believe that awareness, education, recovery-focused resources, and compassionate support can change lives. Through partnerships with organizations already doing this work, we help connect people to resources, amplify recovery stories, and work toward providing treatment assistance grants for those who need help most.

Why This Tournament Matters

The Alive Now Foundation Charity Golf Tournament is more than a day on the golf course.
