A fire tore through the Casino Center block where Raw Remedies and Analog Dope have stood for years, inside some of the oldest historic buildings in the Las Vegas Arts District.

These weren’t just buildings. They were part of the history and character of our neighborhood. Most of us have a memory tied to that stretch of sidewalk, a haircut, a book or record you couldn’t find anywhere else, or a First Friday that ran a little too late. It was the kind of block that felt like it belonged to all of us.

El Clark was inside when the fire began. She described hearing “boom, pop, like a bunch of explosions” a power pole sparking, followed by flames moving through the storage area and an old event stage before reaching the buildings.

Eight to ten people made it out safely. Thankfully, no one was injured. If you know these old buildings and how quickly fire can spread, you know how easily this story could have ended differently.

Bobbie Mullins owns the historic property and Raw Remedies, the business she spent 16 years building. In her words, it took “16 years to build and three minutes to burn down.”

Her business wasn’t all she lost. Bobbie lived on the property, and her home was also damaged by the fire. In the immediate aftermath, her beloved cat, Sampson—black with yellow eyes and part of the property for nearly ten years, was missing. Thankfully, Sampson was later found alive and safe.

Analog Dope, independently owned by Rachelle and Charlie Luster, also suffered a devastating loss.

After four years in business, The Analog Dope Store has cultivated a community centered on literacy, culture, and diversity in the Arts District through free family events, author events, reading and listening rooms, and more. They are more than a bookstore and record shop. They are a hub for human consciousness, connection, and the uplifting of self and others.

Together, Raw Remedies and Analog Dope have helped shape the culture of this neighborhood, creating spaces where people feel welcome, represented, and connected.

Even before the fire, these businesses were struggling. Months of construction in front of the block had severely reduced foot traffic, leaving local storefronts fighting to stay open. They were already holding on and then, in a matter of minutes, the fire took away nearly everything.

Now it’s our turn to show them what this community means.
