This auction accompanies ASH — Art, Film, and Music, a one-night event presented by the Black Basalt Foundation on March 27, 2026 at Eden Events, in St. Charles, IL. The evening will also feature a live oud performance by award-winning musician Issam Rafea. Event will be livestreamed.

ASH is part of the Black Basalt Memorial Project, an initiative that brings together art, film, music, and documentation to reflect on memory, resilience, and the events in Swaida, Syria.

At the center of the exhibition are works by Syrian artist Yarob Nassif, created using ash gathered from locations in Swaida where attacks on Druze communities destroyed homes, places of worship, and community spaces.

Through this auction, limited-edition framed prints from the exhibition are being released, allowing supporters to participate in the project and directly support the families and communities connected to the events depicted in ASH.

Auction timing
Bidding opens online ahead of the event and closes the night of March 27 during ASH.

Receiving your print
• Guests attending the event may take their framed print home that evening.
• Winning bidders who are not present may arrange shipping after the auction.

Black Basalt Foundation is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status currently pending.
Donations are not currently tax-deductible, but may become retroactively tax-deductible upon approval.
