BBF sponsors a variety of educational and enrichment programs that include children’s programming, special events, seniors programming, and other activities for adults and families. Money raised by BBF primarily supplement the Library’s materials and programming budgets. Examples on how funds are spent include:

Supporting the Summer Quest children’s program
Supporting Live/Virtual Programs for children and adults
Supporting community events hosted by Burke Branch Library
Sponsoring Film Licensing Fees

Burke Branch Friends operates under Friends of the Alexandria Libraries.
