A Vision Born from Urgency: 2000-2025

Public safety is once again at the forefront of national debate in Washington, DC, with ongoing conversations about what safety means, and who defines it. For 25 years, the East of the River Clergy-Police-Community Partnership (ERCPCP) has advanced a holistic approach to safety rooted in faith, restoration, and community trust. Headquartered in the Bellevue neighborhood of Ward 8, ERCPCP has built bridges between law enforcement, clergy, returning citizens, and DC families since its founding in 2000.

Our mission is to empower individuals and families east of the Anacostia River through collaborative, community-based solutions that drive lasting transformation.

Through reentry support, youth-justice initiatives, and citywide partnerships, ERCPCP has been rebuilding safe, thriving communities—block by block, family by family.
