At SheBuilds Futures, we are preparing the next generation of girls and young women for high-growth careers in STEAAM—Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Arts, and Mathematics—with a special emphasis on architecture, construction, engineering, and the skilled trades.

We believe that when girls have the opportunity to design, build, and lead, they discover what's possible for their futures. Through hands-on learning, mentorship from industry professionals, workforce development experiences, and real-world community projects, we are equipping young women with the confidence, technical skills, and leadership needed to shape tomorrow's communities.

One of our signature initiatives empowers students to design and build microvillas that provide safe, dignified housing for unhoused single mothers. These projects allow students to apply their skills to meaningful community challenges while learning the value of service, innovation, and purpose-driven design.

Our Mission

SheBuilds Futures is the only DFW-based nonprofit with national recognition for inspiring girls to explore and discover future pathways in STEAAM—Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Arts, and Math.

We equip young women with hands-on skills in architecture, construction, and the skilled trades, while intentionally building a workforce pipeline that prepares them to thrive in industries where women are underrepresented. Through our globally recognized Playhouse Project, students design and build playhouses that are donated to women’s and children’s shelters and community centers, creating spaces of joy and healing.

We are also launching our Micro Villa Initiative, an innovative effort to design and build sustainable homes for unhoused single mothers and their families—expanding our mission to build both futures and communities while creating clear pathways to certification, careers, and economic mobility.
