Provide financial support to Memorial Opera House so that they may use theatre and the arts to build community and create a sense of belonging.

Through the generosity of our donors, we help ensure that Memorial Opera House remains a vibrant cultural hub—one where stories come to life, creativity is nurtured, and individuals of all ages and backgrounds can connect, participate, and feel at home. Our support allows the arts to flourish as a powerful tool for community building, inclusive education, and personal growth.

Memorial Opera House is a self-sustaining premier performing arts venue. Ticket sales contribute to only a portion of our operational budget. We also rely on donations, sponsorships, grants, and other contributions to help fund all the wonderful programming that we offer to the community at large. The mission of Memorial Opera House Foundation is to provide financial support to Memorial Opera House so that we may continue to use theatre and the arts to build community and create a sense of belonging.

Memorial Opera House was originally built and dedicated as a living Civil War monument. In the summer of 2024 Memorial Opera House underwent a $5 million renovations project, a significant portion of which was funded by the Memorial Opera House Foundation. Along with the renovations, Memorial Opera House Foundation launched a Legacy Campaign which raised money for Memorial Opera House by giving sponsors opportunities to name the newly renovated spaces & seats.

Memorial Opera House Foundation’s continued support continues our legacy of presenting quality Broadway musicals, youth theatre, Penguin Programming, concerts, and special events in a freshly renovated & historic venue that still serves its original purpose of providing a gathering place for the community.
