Burning Bright: community resilience

Sunday, December 10th, 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM PST

In Person

Join Aviva Arts at the cozy Red Poppy Art House for an afternoon of music, ritual, food, and community featuring sound healing with Manaar Azreik of Wholistic Solutions! Celebrate community, center kindness and humanity, and seek peace together this December! At Aviva Arts, we believe arts practice is freedom practice, a ritual of meaning-making, and a conduit for healing. Burning Bright: community resilience will hold space for each other in the midst of difficult times. A Silent Auction Fundraiser: Help us meet our goal of raising $8,000 to pay artists a living wage and grow our programming vision for 2024 by taking advantage of our online silent auction! You can participate online, with the auction’s finale culminating at this event! Some items will only be revealed live at the event, so make sure and grab a ticket. Final bid winners will be announced at the event, however, you will not need to be present to receive your auction item. ** As a bonus, all tickets that register with $50+ will receive a FREE Aviva Arts tote bag at the event as a thank you! ** Burning Bright Community Gathering: Led by sound healer and Palestinian-Israeli Manaar Azreik of Wholistic Solutions, join Aviva Arts in a participatory ritual that explores sound as an expressive art. Sound involves deep listening. When we listen we open ourselves to understanding. When we understand we cultivate compassion. When we lead with compassion we move from love. Enjoy the sounds and music of Manaar’s enchanting voice, opt to bring your instrument, and/or participate with instruments we provide. Listeners and observers are also welcome! This is a family-friendly event suitable for all ages. Enjoy sweet and savory snacks, beer, wine, signature cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages. Ritual will be from 3-4pm, with Aviva Arts updates and auction to follow from 4-5:30pm. Parking is on the street, and Red Poppy Art House is accessible by MUNI. While we do not require masks, we strongly encourage you to test beforehand and take the steps to ensure you and our community can remain safe and healthy! Burning Bright is an Aviva Arts fundraiser! Help us raise $8,000 to pay artists and create accessible arts and wellness community programming! Aviva Arts creates cultural wellness and arts experiences that create community connection. Now more than ever, we need creative ways to calm the chaos, lift up joyful moments, and hold challenging conversations. Please consider making an additional donation to invest in our community. Aviva Arts is a 501(c)3 and donations are tax deductible. ** As a bonus, all tickets that register with $50+ will receive a FREE Aviva Arts tote bag at the event as a thank you! ** Aviva Arts Donor Circle Tiers: Engage: $50 --------------> Supports you and someone else to attend a workshop. Thank you for your coproduction of the Gaza Monologues and for all you are doing in support of your community. As a Jew and an AntiZionist I appreciate you, and as a playwright I support arts organizations that have offerings for dialogue and healing. I wish I was there to participate more fully, but I'm in NYC. In Solidarity, Happy Hanukah, may there be peace.
