Born out of a small group of community leaders who understood that housing was a critical issue of the civil rights movement in 1967, Citizens’ Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA) believes that every person in Massachusetts should have a safe, affordable, and welcoming place to call home in the communities they choose, free of discrimination.

For the past 59 years, CHAPA has been a leader in advocating for the homes that people, our communities, and the Commonwealth need to thrive, and we are not stopping now. But, it will take political will and support from people like you to ensure our state remains on the right path—222,000 homes by 2035.
