The Coastal Community Foundation / Kewah Foundation has challenged us to match their generous $10,000 Grant! 100% of this grant and its matching funds will be divided into thirds to help support the following community services here in Coffman Cove, AK:

1/3 of the grant will provide two scholarships for EMT Training! The matching funds will provide the travel expenses necessary to Juneau to take their final assessment. These 2 individuals will serve as Coffman Coves EMT's for at least one year! (Did you know that Coffman Cove does not currently have a licensed EMT?)

1/3 will be put towards the new library. The Kemah's foundation's $3333 will go towards furnishing and supplying necessary equipment for the children's section of the new library. The matching 1/3 will go towards their fundraising efforts to build a new library. (Did you know the current library is housed in a 60 year old float house that has serious rot issues in its foundation?)

1/3 will provide Arts in the Cove the necessary funds to expand the annual Arts Festival, giving SE Alaskan artists, small business', and crafts people a place to sell and promote their work while contributing to Coffman Cove's local economy. Matching funds will help offset increased operational costs of the Community Center at the Ferry Terminal — allowing us to continue offering mental and health wellbeing classes and community gatherings year-round. (Did you know the Community Center hosts exercise classes five days a week, along with painting workshops, game nights, movie nights, and seasonal events?)
