CREATURE/COMFORT, a new musical by drag kings Excess Materials and Hugh Mann Race, is coming to the Exponential Festival from January 22nd - 24th - but we need your help to make it happen! It's 1953, and Dr. Bartholomew Bright and his faithful assistant Kevin have one goal: to make the perfect monster. But with the FBI closing in, will their experiments succeed? Or will they be caught before Kevin has the chance to confess that his feelings for Dr. Bright are more than just scientific? Created by drag duo Mann & Materials, this campy musical comedy asks just how much we’ll transform for love. Featuring an original synth-pop score, fantastical monstrous puppets, and homosexual awakenings, Creature/Comfort invites its audience to find (and lovingly embrace) the monster within.
