Burn out is a serious problem for MOST every canine professional. The nature of our industry routinely puts trainers working with owners for some of the most distressing decisions we ever have to make for our beloved dogs.

We know that veterinarians have incredibly hard jobs that exacts a harsh toll on medical staff -- and many of those same hardships are felt by professional dog trainers.

Canine pros can deal with the needs of a young, scared puppy figuring out its new life in one consult only to sit alongside a grieving owner who has no choice left put to euthanize a highly troubled dog in the next consult. Our advice can be belittled by trainers who choose to use force and fear in their training and we often get cyber bullied online from other trainers and dog owners who have no clue how hard our work is. And then we go home to our own families who also need our love and support.

The Phenix Advocacy Center for R+ Canine Professionals is the ONLY IRS-approved nonprofit that puts the well-being and mental wellness at the forefront of our mission to help trainers. We have provided mental health education and support for our 1,000 members on a daily basis since Feb. 2023. We have been a part of literally life-saving support for our colleagues.

Our PAC 2024 Summer Auction is from June 21-30^th and will include live interviews with leading trainers and behaviorists who will talk about their favorite donated items and what the PAC has meant to them.
