DCNH is a network of independent people, places, and things in the Granite Republic, building a federation of digital communities.

People

Create a close bond with about 8 people, and those people have bonds with their eight, and so on. Those people are your spokes. Teach children to create these bonds while they are young, and to be their own independent hub. Those friendships and connections are great resources later in life.

The Freedom Cells promote self reliance, independence, sustainability, decentralization, and human connection. Building your own hub, or cell, is a step that you can take right now to help eliminate dependence on outside uncontrollable forces.

Build a core group around you to support your goals with your values

Think of 7 people that you are closest aligned with on your most important values.
- If you value family most of all, start with your own family members.
Reach out to each of them to let them know they are in your core group.
Encourage the members of your core group to do the same, and build their own core.
Build a virtual freedom cell online for this team, or have one of them get involved if you're not the technical one of the group.
- This could be in a Telegram group, Facebook group, Signal group, email list, or whatever you choose is best for communications with those people that you value the most.
Repeat this process for each of the things you value most.
- If you don't have enough people in your life to comfortably fill a group of 8, start networking in places that are likely to attract more connections.
  - For example, if you value health and fitness, join a gym or find groups online in your area.
- Ideally, each of these new hubs that you create will share spokes.
  - Those are usually the most important people to you as they have the most values in common.
- Education, Gardening, Freedom, Health, Nature, Arts, Music, Entertainment, Preparedness, etc.

Food

NewHampshire already has a resilient DeCentralized Food network. There are Co-Ops in every city, and farms around the regions producing everything from syrup and honey to chickens and eggs. Finding a community or farm to join is as easy as talking to your neighbor.

We have numerous microbreweries for a huge variety of beer, and also mead, cider, kava, and kombucha. Organic farms, grass fed beef, free range poultry, and distribution networks to share within our regions.

Many restaurants source their ingredients locally, and finding local brews on tap has come to be expected.

Media

DCNH.tv is an open source community broadcast network. Broadcast from your home, your phone, the beach, the bar, wherever you are.

Community Created Content streamed directly to viewers through a peer to peer video network powered by open source technology. DCNH.tv runs on the technology showcased in DCNH.cloud.

Tech

Decentralized Tech is building a network of servers around New Hampshire, that anyone can participate in. Classes are available for anyone age 10+ are available now at The Wearehouse, and also online at DCNH.cloud.

Build your own online hub for your private network. The cloud that you're creating can be shared with your team, your family, or your business, and the knowledge of how to create the hub will empower the individuals of your team to build their own networks.

Your own personal server can offer a secure and private option for syncing your contacts, calendar, email, and files between devices. Decentralized video hosting technology enables backups for Youtube or Odysee channels, to automatically keep your video subscriptions available locally in your own cloud. All of this is possible with a used computer and a couple of hours time.

Exchange

Trade can be difficult to get started.

Ideally, each of us will have something the other needs, and the value of those things are identical. This is rarely the reality.

Trading eggs for for a high value item like a vehicle would require one to save the eggs much longer than they can hold their value, and the vehicle owner probably won't want thousands of eggs at once.

Exchange can be simplified when introducing a medium of common denomination. Let's use the goldback for example. If we agree that a single goldback has the value of a dozen eggs, and the vehicle has the value of 1,000 dozen eggs - the chicken farmer could continue exchanging goldbacks for eggs until they are able to exchange goldbacks for the vehicle.

This works as long as all parties involved value the medium of exchange equally. Mediums such as gold, silver, bitcoin, and loose change all have pretty universally accepted market prices. While prices do fluctuate, sometimes wildly, the current value can generally be found online - in nearly real time.

Marketplace

The free marketplace is also commonly known as the Agora.

Local markets occur all around New Hampshire, and are usually very popular. Farmers markets, craft fairs, health & wellness fairs, and more. It allows vendors to congregate and centralize at regular intervals to bring products and services to the consumer.

One example of this is the Weare Local Market where locals gather each month with agorist style.

Online Marketplace

The worlds first digital free marketplace was called The Silk Road 🐪, and utilized the TOR network to enable buyers and sellers to barter online without disclosing their personal details.

This was extremely popular until October 1, 2013, when the people working in the US government on shut down the site and arrested Ross Ulbricht, one of the developers. They sentenced him over 200 years in prison - likely due to their fear of Bitcoin and the power of a truly free marketplace.

Since then, the market has responded and dozens of replacement websites have started up. Ross has been in confinement for over 10 years now. He was a young developer with a ambition until the government cancelled his freedom.

Over half a million people have signed the petition to Free Ross, and a couple of presidential candidates have promised to commute his sentence if elected.

Politics

Political parties are centralized collectives of loosely organized people with some common values. The democratic system permits people to express their desire of which politician is best aligned with their values, and they would be most willing to have represent them.

This works best when all of the people being represented share the same values instead of two wolves and a chicken voting on what's for dinner.

There's also an issue where only some of your values are represented by a collective, but you are still only given the opportunity to select representation by the lesser of evils. The republic of confederated states may be the more decentralized method, but still ultimately results in centrally ruling by force over a peaceful minority.

The Free State Project is an attempt at creating the ideal geographic region for neighbors who share values of freedom, liberty, non-aggression, and voluntary interactions.

Funspot

This has resulted in a mass migration to the Granite State, largely due to their Live Free or Die mentality.

One development of this is the NHLA. The NHLA was formed to rank individual political representatives based on how their values align with the values of the people they are representing. This system of ranking and grading representatives against the Gold Standard is published in a report card.

Events

The Free State Calendar has something, somewhere, for everyone. Hockey games, hiking, market days, game nights, park days, movie nights, or dinners out. Independent community clubs like The Wearehouse, and The Shell have created welcoming spaces for hosting all types of gatherings.

The goal of The Wearehouse is to provide the physical space, and resources, to permit community members to participate in collaboration on projects, ideas, and business ventures.

Weare Local Market

On the Fourth Friday of each month we open our doors to the community to gather, network, and meet your neighbors.

This flea market / open bazaar / farmers market / craft fair / small business showcase is evolving every month and fills up with a great variety of vendors selling a wide range of quality products.

We've also had live music and food making a fun evening for all ages (kids love it).Come out to vend, shop, or just socialize and have fun!

Silk Road

Life for a website?!?

Ross Ulbricht was sentenced double life (+40 years) in federal prison for creating the Silk Road online marketplace. On January 21, 2025, he walked free with a full pardon from President Donald Trump.

The Wearehouse would like to build a Silk Road in honor of the years that have been taken away from Ross.

We have been documenting our research into life in the Free State. The Silk Road is the culmination of thousands of hours of hands on research spanning nearly 10 years in New Hampshire.
