Denver Urban Spectrum is Colorado's premiere source of news for communities of color. Since 1987, the publication has educated, informed and inspired readers and audiences with stories about underrepresented individuals and organizations working to make our state a better place.

On October 19, 2024, Denver Urban Spectrum will celebrate 37 years of award-winning journalism at Denver's Voice 37, an "Elegant Evening of Entertainment" featuring an exciting lineup of local and national entertainers. To commemorate this special event, several friends of the publication have donated exclusive, one-of-a-kind items for auction including:

A custom sculpture by renowned sculptor and first Black astronaut candidate for NASA, Ed Dwight.
A priceless, commissioned painting of U.S. Vice President and 2024 presidential nominee, Kamala Harris, by master artist, Dr. Thomas Lockhart.
A special weekend getaway to the breathtaking Majestic Lodge in Breckenridge, Colorado, by owners Ben & Melissa Wilbourn.

Each bid supports Denver Urban Spectrum's legacy of community reporting, in addition to supporting the continuation of local journalism through the Urban Spectrum Youth Foundation's media literacy training for youth, and the safety and quality of life of aging adults and senior citizens through the Ruth Boyd Elder Abuse Foundation.
