This is a story about Uwineza Imaculee. Uwineza lost both of her parents in the Rwandan civil war, leaving her an orphan of genocide. In the face of such loss, she lost her dream and hope for a better future. The scholarships offered through the New Hope Technical Institute in Rwanda were a lifeline. Uwineza was able to graduate from the school and went on to work as a chef at a restaurant. Not only can she support her family, but she has also decided to offer additional training and support for new students at the Institute.

Her story is a powerful reminder of the transformational impact education can have on a young life. There are countless more, like Uwineza, who dream of a brighter future, and to create a better life for themselves and their communities.

The 9 schools that WFWP USA sponsors in 8 African countries provide children and adults with access to quality education and a pathway out of poverty. We need your help to ensure that more people, like Uwineza, can access the life-changing gift of education.
