Drye/Marinaro Dance Company and Compound Playground’s HOME | 咱兜 (Lán-tau) An Immersive Benefit, celebrates a new collaboration of strengthening communities through dance education and creative live performance. Drye/Marinaro Dance Company and Compound Playground provide affordable performances, dance education, and community-building programs to the American Sign Language and Taiwanese Immigrant communities. This collaboration reflects both companies commitment to support and uplift their communities through the performing arts.

Drye/Marinaro Dance Company and Compound Playground are prominent figures in the ASL, LGBTQIA+, and Taiwanese Immigrant Communities.

Founded in 2011 by Jamie Drye and Francesca Marinaro, Drye/Marinaro Dance Company has created over 10 evening length works across New York and North Carolina, with features at New York Live Arts, Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, and Dumbo Dance Festival.

This year, Drye/Marinaro Dance Company had the honor of being produced by Re/Venue NYC after a successful run of their newest production of "The Giving Tree", immersing ASL in dance to expand performance accessibility.

Drye/Marinaro Dance Company is a proud producer of We Move, a community engagement showcase supporting new works by emerging performers and choreographers.

Compound Playground is known for Islanders, a New York-based Taiwanese-American interdisciplinary artist collective and multimedia performance series that brings together dancers, musicians, actors, filmmakers, photographers, theater artists, and Taiwanese language and cultural practitioners to explore Taiwanese identity, memory, migration, and contemporary culture.

Founded in New York in 2022 by choreographer Chieh Hsiung and violinist Yu-Wei Hsiao, Islanders has developed and self-produced original productions presented at venues including Culture Lab LIC and Flushing Town Hall, as well as cultural and community events such as US Open AAPI Fan Week, Bryant Park, Queensboro Dance Festival, and Queens Pride.

Together, Drye/Marinaro Dance Company and Compound Playground are a living creative community using contemporary performance to support the evolution of dance as an art, an expression, and a way of life through themes of identity and unity.
