Founded in 2022 by a group of New Haven-based Black, Asian, Latinx, and mixed race handcraft artisans, New Haven Crafters of Color Collective hosts free pop-up markets throughout the year for local craftspeople and artists of color in the city.

We don't charge vendor fees because we know how big a barrier that can be to marginalized artists like us. Instead, we spend our time securing venues, creating and distributing fliers, posting on social media, and (re-)setting the spaces we use. All accepted vendors are expected to contribute similarly.

We at Crafters of Color and Possible Futures Books believe that we can support local artists of color as well as Palestinians suffering in the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and beyond. On Sunday, December 3, 2023, we are collaborating with Possibles Futures bookstore to host a fundraiser for Palestine, with proceeds going to the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund and Medical Aid for Palestinians.

In addition to a portion of all booksales on Sunday going toward relief efforts, 7 local Crafters of Color will be selling their art at this fundraiser which has a suggested entry donation of $5-$20. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. In addition, these artisans and 13 other area artists have donated over 20 prizes to be raffled and auctioned to benefit Palestinian aid. Due to overwhelming genoristy and interest, we have chosen to make a few of the donated pieces available for silent auction online and in person.
