The Sewing Labs holds a bi-annual fundraiser known as Fabric grab each year; once in the spring and once in the fall.

At Fabric Grab, The Sewing Labs offers FREE fabric as well as fabric by the pound for donations to the organization. The selection covers all kinds of fabrics. In addition, there will be an assortment of notions, tools, patterns and sewing machines. The selection includes vintage & newer items. Meet other makers and learn about The Sewing Labs mission to use sewing to create jobs and build community.

Sewing Machines and Tables are also sold during this event, with the proceeds supporting programming at the Sewing Labs.

The Sewing Labs partners with other area nonprofits to support the underserved and lead them on paths toward financial dignity. Through our workforce development program, we offer industrial sewing machine operator training that results in an apprenticeship with an area business that is hiring trained stitchers.

The Sewing Labs is a welcoming and inclusive community teaching the legacy of sewing for employment, entrepreneurship, and enrichment.
