The Dream Continues at Contest Field

In 2001, Field of Dreams built the bleachers and lights at Contest Field. In 2007, Field of Dreams II brought the turf and a new track. Both times, this community came together and built something every Jay still uses today.

Field of Dreams III is the next chapter: a $150,000 investment in permanent improvements that give John Jay athletes a better place to train, compete and represent their school.

TRAIN | Two Lighted Wall Ball Training Stations

This is the heart of Field of Dreams III. Two permanent wall ball stations, each 20 feet wide and 12 feet high, will give athletes a dedicated place to put in extra work outside of organized practice. The project includes an expanded hard-surface training area, plus lighting and access designed for year-round use. Show up, put in the reps, get better.

EXPERIENCE | A New Stadium Sound System

A professionally designed speaker system will raise the game-day atmosphere at Contest Field. Pregame and warmup music, player introductions, public-address announcements, senior nights, playoff games, ceremonies and community events will all sound the way they should, clear and full of energy.

TRANSFORM | A Custom John Jay Fence Wrap

Purple and gold John Jay Athletics branding around the contest field will give it a true stadium feel. When opponents walk in, they will know exactly whose field they are on.

Why It Matters

Athlete development. A permanent training resource for any athlete who wants extra reps and skill work.
Game-day experience. Better music, announcing and special-event programming for teams and fans.
School pride. A stronger John Jay identity and a complete stadium atmosphere.
Lasting impact. Your gift goes to visible, durable improvements that will serve generations of Jays. You will see it every time you are at the field.

Building for Every Jay

The John Jay Booster Club supports every student in the district, K through 12, along with our youth sports partner programs. Our goal is to make fitness a lifelong habit, introduce the youngest Jays to the game, and build athletes who compete with pride and lead with character.
