Drexell & Honeybee's: A Donations-Only Restaurant

We are a restaurant focused on feeding the hungry in Brewton, Alabama. When guests come to our restaurant they don't have to worry about paying for their meal or doing any volunteer hours in exchange for a meal. We are not a soup kitchen or pay-what-you-can restaurant. We operate as a restaurant, serving quality, home-cooked, southern meals. We focus on providing a place where the poor and the homeless can find a seat at the table and enjoy a luxury many of us take for granted.

We run entirely on donations

In order for this model to work and not have to require guests to pay for their meals, we rely entirely on donations. The donations of those who come and visit us from around the states, our online community, and business partners. Their generosity allows us to feed those who don't have food or can't make ends meet. We are also thankful for our staff who are strictly volunteer-based.

Food Insecurity is still a problem

With the effects of the pandemic, food insecurity has increased. Families are not able to have consistent access to healthy sources of food. Every day 828 million people go hungry, and Drexell and Honeybees is here to decrease that number by serving our community.
