Celebrating the Freedom to Read: A Banned Books Week Masquerade

The Downers Grove Public Library Foundation (DGPLF) will host a Celebrate the Freedom to Read: A Banned Books Masquerade fundraiser event on Tues., Oct. 3rd from 7-10 p.m. at Skeleton Key Brewery (8102 Lemont Rd.) celebrating Banned Books Week (Oct. 1st – 7th) as well as the passing of anti-book ban legislation in Illinois. Guests will experience food and drink, a DJ and live band, photo booth, raffle and silent auction, guest speakers and more! All funds raised from the event support the Downers Grove Public Library. Please note, the venue is 21+. Additionally, there will be an on-site photographer documenting the event. Your entry and presence on the event premises constitutes your consent to be photographed and to the release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction of any and all recorded media of your appearance for any purpose whatsoever in perpetuity in connection with the Downers Grove Public Library Foundation and its initiatives, including, by way of example only, use on websites, in social media, news and advertising.

The Downers Grove Public Library Foundation funds extraordinary gifts, beyond taxpayer support, to inspire and engage ideas and strengthen the library as a cornerstone in our community. Gifts might include art and books for greater community impact and outreach.
