NeLAFS's first Fall Fundraiser Kicks off Saturday Nov 19th!

Our Board of Directors along with a team of *amazing* forest school volunteers has been hard at work putting together our first Fall Fundraising event: The NeLA Forest School Silent Auction!

As a small independent preschool and non-profit, we are thrilled to be able to launch this silent auction from which will directly support our Tuition Support Fund, which will enhance access to outdoor, nature-based education for Northeast LA Families who would otherwise not be able to access our programming. We aim to make NeLA Forest School an Equitable Urban Forest Preschool for All – together we can do this!

Your donations from the Silent Auction will go straight to making our program more accessible and equitable. All kiddos should be able to learn with Mother Nature as their teacher and with educators focused on the scaffolding of social-emotional growth! This fund, we hope, opens our program to all the young, curious minds who would like to join us!

The Silent Auction will open on Saturday November 19th and remain open for approximately two weeks - until Monday Dec. 5th! The Silent Auction will be completely remote (online), so you can browse on your time!

Our goal will be to raise a $3,500 for our first fundraising round to go towards our tuition support fund!

We have a fantastic selection of generously donated items and would love to open up for donations from our wider Forest School Community! If you have anything you’d like to contribute for our Silent Auction, please reach out! If you have friends with small businesses who may want to join in by donating a product, gift card, or services – please reach out!

As we consider the holidays, we aim to highlight shopping small, local businesses – so many who have donated already are those we love, whose entrepreneurship we want to highlight, and while being small, have still found a way to donate to our cause! As a preview, some of the places that have donated so far include Cookbook, Minibop Music, MAR MAR Candles, Merci Milo, and many more. Keep an eye out for special offerings from our talented and beloved teachers as well!
