The Girasol School is an equitable bilingual Montessori school serving ages 2.5-10. Our Primary and Elementary mixed age classrooms provide both indoor and outdoor learning environments. We are the first authentic Montessori program in the Dorado area striving to meet the demands of a growing community of global transplants and support local families. The Girasol Community resources are available to families both in and outside the school as we aspire to teach peace and unify people.

We have exceeded our enrollment goals with 38 students for our first school year. We have a growing waitlist as we are meeting a much needed demand in our community. 48% of families receive subsidized tuition of which 18% fall below HUD rates for Low Median Income threshold. With additional funding we plan to grow our school offering more spaces and expanding to higher grades. Our immediate needs are moving into a bigger facility with more classrooms and to continue supporting our subsidized tuition offerings at scale.

Our low classroom ratios of 8:1 allow for more personalized lessons and individualized attention. Another fundraising goal is to ensure our team is taken care of with competitive salaries for the incredibly hard work they put into the school and their students.

We are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit with 1101.01(a) status with CECFL designation to eradicate child poverty in Puerto Rico. We are eligible to receive full Act 60 donations through our network The Wildflower Foundation. Thank you for your support!
