About Bread & Roses:

Bread & Roses is a nonprofit arts organization with a human services mission. Founded in 1974 by the late singer-songwriter/guitarist Mimi Fariña, Bread & Roses has consistently and reliably provided services to our neighbors most in need for over 50 years.

Our Event:

Our Golden Jam is our Spring jubilee fundraiser to celebrate this milestone achievement: 50 years of bringing free live music to isolated audiences in a wide range of institutional settings in the San Francisco Bay Area. Hosted by Joan Baez, sister of Bread & Roses founder the late Mimi Fariña, with Bay Area journalist Ben Fong-Torres. The event will also feature an impressive and robust lineup of Bread & Roses performing artists, including Ron Artis II, Emma Rose Botti, Dirty Cello, Jason Crosby, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Jeffrey Halford, Gabriel Harris, Matt Jaffe, Tony Saunders and more! All guests are invited to our welcome reception from 5:30 -7 pm with light bites and an opportunity to bid on our silent auction items. Music begins at 7 pm. Support for the Bread & Roses Golden Jam will sustain our program of delivering hope and healing through free live music and the performing arts to our neighbors most in need of uplifting.
