CASA Community Challenge
Overview: The CASA Community Challenge is a fun vehicular scavenger hunt where participants can spend time with friends, family, or new acquaintances. Points are earned by completing tasks that support CASA, the community, and sponsors.
Event Highlights:
• Scavenger Hunt: Work through a vehicular scavenger hunt with friends, family, or soon-to-be friends. Solve clues, complete tasks, and explore the beautiful landscapes of Goochland and Powhatan.
• Points & Prizes: Accumulate points by accomplishing challenge tasks that support CASA, our community, and our sponsors. The team with the most points wins the Challenge!
• Online/In-Person Auction: Snag some amazing auction items while supporting a great cause. Register to bid on the second tab above for exciting auction listings and place your bids with a few simple clicks. Don’t miss out—register now and join the bidding action! *To be finalized at the Grand Finale event on April 26th.
Team Formation:
• Teams are self-formed and can include friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, or any combination of people who can safely and legally fit in a road-worthy vehicle.
• Each team must have a leader who is at least 25 years old.
• Each team member must sign the waiver form *sent after registration.
• Team size is limited by the number of people who can safely fit in the chosen vehicle (e.g., minivan, motorcycle).
• Each vehicle must be properly licensed and insured for use on Powhatan and Goochland County roads.
Directions to Participate:
CASA Community Challenge Event:
1. Go to the Donate/Tickets button on the top right-hand corner of the website.
2. Purchase a ticket for $25 to be a team member OR purchase a "Bundle" ticket to register an entire team of 6 for $100.
3. For families with children, parents pay the $25 participation fee. Children under 12 enter free but must be registered on the waiver form.*Sent after you register.
Grand Finale Event:
• Family members who want to attend the grand finale party can purchase a ticket for $25. The event will feature a DJ, food, prizes, and silent auction.
Optional: Best Team Fundraiser Prizes
• There is no cost to form a team and this is done by one member after you purchase your ticket(s).
• Teams can qualify for the Best Team Fundraiser Prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd) at the grand finale event.
• Registering on the Team Leaderboard gives you a personal fundraising page to share with friends and family.
Steps to Participate on the Leaderboard:
1. Register as a Team Leader for Free:
• Scroll down on the fundraising page to "Team Leaderboard."
• Click "Fundraise/Create a page" to get your own fundraising page.
2. Spread the Word:
• Share your personal fundraising page with friends and family.
3. Have Others Join Your Team:
• Invite friends and family to give or join your team for the CASA Community Challenge on April 26th.
Team Identity:
• Each team will choose a name and photo or icon to post on their team site on the CASA fundraising platform.
• Teams are encouraged to dress in a way that identifies with their team and/or CASA.
• Official CASA Community Challenge t-shirts will be available for purchase on the website before the event. The deadline for purchasing is April 5, 2025.
