Why us, because we are fundraising to help the youth in our community gain a different, but much needed type of education. We need these funds to resume programs we had in place pre-pandemic in our local schools, programing that relied on grant funding, unfortunately that grant is no longer available. Our local schools are requesting our return so we can provide mental health early intervention services, and we would like to be able to honor that request.

Overall, the need for mental health support for children is on the rise. In this area, the average waitlist to have a child receive this type of support is 1 year. As of June 7th, we were able to offer children 6 and older Outpatient Services at our facility. Prior to that, we were limited to 14 and older. We are truly working to make a difference for our community’s children, and we are your neighbors.

Established in 1957, our legacy spans over six decades delivering mental health services to the Lehigh Valley community. As a registered 501(c) (3) non-profit since 1976, we currently cater to around 3000 residents and their families, and primarily low-income.

We began with our Outpatient Program, which today offers a spectrum of services, including individual and group therapy, medication management, and nursing care including long-acting injections.

In 2006, our Psychiatric Rehabilitative Programs (PRS) began to emerge to facilitate community integration and foster members' well-being by imparting essential life skills so they may gain or maintain independence.

When the Allentown State Hospital closed in 2012, we moved to our current location and shortly after the community-based Wellness Recovery Team (WRT) was created to support individuals with both severe persistent mental health and physical diagnoses. WRT facilitates collaboration between healthcare professionals, while teaching clients to advocate for themselves and more.

Launched in December 2018, in recognition of the unique mental health needs of aging populations, our Mental Health and Aging Program extends treatment to residents at Gracedale Nursing Home while enhancing staff awareness through training.

Our THRIVE program, initiated in 2019, offers support to individuals exiting Northampton County Prison to mitigate mental health treatment gaps and facilitate successful reintegration.

Our STARTS program, launched in 2021, provides temporary housing and a rigid re-entry program to pave the path for a seamless transition from incarceration to community life for those who would be homeless otherwise.

In 2023, we established a food pantry in 2023, to support our members and our community and address a major cause of concern for so many of our members.Top of Form

Now we have expanded to offer Outpatient support to children 6-13, due to the overwhelming need in our community.
