Third Annual Jazz Night: Year of Alice

This signature event is a powerful celebration of music, culture, and community, with proceeds supporting Brooklyn Peace Center's vital programs in trauma resilience, peacebuilding, and the arts.

Celebrate the life, music, and legacy of 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐞 with a transcendent performance by 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐧𝐢 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐥𝐚𝐥 & 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 (featuring Mexican-born, Brooklyn-based, virtuosic tap artist 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐚 𝐀𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐫).

Set within the historic, iconic Gilded Age building of Brooklyn Peace Center, the evening will feature live music, light bites, a silent auction, and more. Every dollar raised supports Brooklyn Peace Center’s mission to offer transformative workshops, arts and culture activities, and peacebuilding initiatives in Brooklyn and beyond.

Roshni Samlal & Friends explore the intersections of deep improvisational listening, Indian classical percussive repertoire and jazz in a collaborative, devotional expression of their love for the music of Alice Coltrane.

Giancarlo Vulcano will open Jazz Night with a new composition that honors the musical legacy and vision of Alice Coltrane. Known for his unique blend of jazz, classical, and experimental elements, Vulcano’s compositions add layers of wit and depth to storytelling. His extensive collaborations across orchestral and avant-garde music make him a versatile force in contemporary composition.
