The Jewish Day School of the Lehigh Valley is proud to present its 71st Annual Gala: An Evening of Tribute–a night dedicated to the power of storytelling and the vibrant legacy of the school.

This year’s theme, “Stories through the Generations,” will be rooted in the moments of community and connection sharing stories of timeless traditions, shared memories, and the individuals who have woven these stories into the very fabric of our community.

We’re thrilled to share a night, and invite those who make it possible to continue making these stories that connect us possible. Alumni, current families, and supporters of the school will come together, sharing stories that span decades — tales of tradition, learning, and the profound impact of Jewish education. From cherished memories of the school’s earliest days to the promise of its future, these stories will remind everyone of the enduring mission that has guided the school for the past 71 years.

This event will be more than just an evening of community, but a tribute to the stories that bind us, the traditions that guide us, and the people who make this legacy endure.

We’re thrilled to announce this year’s honoree and pay special tribute to Mr. Brian Goldman, our beloved retired Middle School English teacher, whose career at the Jewish Day School spanned 10 years. Known for his passion, warmth, and unwavering dedication to his students, Mr. Goldman not only taught the art of writing and literature but also inspired countless students to discover their own unique voices, craft their own narratives, and appreciate the power of words whose impact can be seen and felt, even decades later, both within our own local community and wherever their journey leads them in this world of ours..

Throughout the evening, we will hear stories from former students and colleagues whose lives were touched by Mr. Goldman’s influence and gift of teaching. His classroom was a place where stories came alive — where Shakespeare was debated with energy, where essays transformed into personal reflections, and where each student’s perspective was valued. Generations of students fondly recall his engaging lessons, his thoughtful guidance, and the encouragement he offered to every aspiring writer who entered his room.

As we honor Mr. Goldman, we also celebrate the values he embodied — those of tradition, scholarship, and connection. His legacy is woven into the fabric of the Jewish Day School, and it continues to inspire the teachers, students, and families who carry on the mission of the school.

As we celebrate the 71st Annual Gala, it serves as not only a night of celebration for our community here at JDS, but a reminder of what an impact the unwavering support of a community can have — from creating a unique atmosphere where educators can share their gifts with their students to help them leave their mark on the world, to creating the opportunity for an exceptional education that fully embodies the rich traditions, stories, and memories that has been passed down for generations.
