The Founding and Purpose of Jamaica Relief Ministries

Jamaica Relief Ministries (JRM) was born out of a deep desire to bring hope and transformative change to the lives of vulnerable children and families in Jamaica. Recognizing the challenges of systemic poverty, rampant fatherlessness, and the abandonment of children, JRM sought to create a sanctuary where hope could flourish and futures could be rebuilt.

From its inception, the organization committed itself to addressing not only the immediate needs of displaced and struggling families but also the root causes of their hardships. Through programs like the Little Miracles Children’s Home, JRM provided care for abandoned children, ensuring they had a safe and loving environment while awaiting reunification or adoption. With initiatives like Family Connect, the ministry worked to prevent the separation of families by addressing housing crises and offering support to parents.

Education became another cornerstone of JRM’s mission, leading to the establishment of the Blackburn Learning Center, a rural preschool where young children could receive early education to break the cycle of poverty. Beyond these programs, JRM also opened its doors to volunteers and mission trip participants, fostering a global community committed to making a difference.

At its core, Jamaica Relief Ministries was founded to be a beacon of hope—empowering children and families, breaking cycles of poverty and abandonment, and inspiring people from all walks of life to join in its mission to create brighter futures for Jamaica's most vulnerable.
