Why Donate?

The Junkyard Social Club is a low- or no-cost venue for artists, culture-keepers, changemakers, and educators who use our space to wreak positive havoc on the system. We throw events to raise money for reproductive rights, donate our space to Latinx and Indigenous groups, mentor neurodivergent kids, and champion independent artists. Your support allows us to do all this and so much more.

Who Donates?

Our donors are Junkyard's shuga mamas, shuga daddies, and non-binary high fructose corn parents. They want to participate in exciting art, important activism, and excellent parties right here in Boulder, so they chip in a little something to lift up the community. These are the folks who see outsized impact from donating locally, where every dollar creates tangible change. To borrow from adrianne maree brown, these folks recognize that positive change is fractal and, "small is good, small is all, the large is a reflection of the small."

About Junkyard Social Club

Where in Boulder can you meet your friends for happy hour while your kids are encouraged to run wild? Where can you sit with a coffee, learn to turn an old lamp into programmable art, and then stay late for a circus show? Where can adults, kids, scientists, and artists coexist and co-create? Where can our kids remember how to play and learn together without screens?

At The Junkyard Social Club, ideas and friends run wild. We are an ever-evolving, climbable discovery museum. We're a rebel art gallery, performance venue and adventure playground. We're a coffee house and beer garden. We're a place to unwind, celebrate, and hatch big plans.

Over the past few years, we’ve transformed an old commercial print shop and a busted up parking lot into a space like Boulder's never seen before. We've offered COVID-safe education programs and free memberships to families affected by the Marshall Fire. We sold out years of summer camps. We've hosted countless events for great organizations (Our Smash the Patriarchy Fundraiser was quite literally out of this world.)

This Community Needs the Junkyard

We are bringing back the funky art culture that Boulder was once known for--an alternative to the corporate, manicured experience that's taking over our town! We play a vital role in incubating the divergent thinking that leads to problem solving. And boy, does the world have some problems that need solving! All Junkyard programs, at their core, are meant to foster these skills. Inside our little community, inside our small town, we will help a new generation prepare to make waves.
