In 2013, Jennifer Thorpe (our mom, wife, friends and more) was diagnosed with liver cancer. During her many trips to the Huntsman Cancer Institute for treatment, she and her husband Greg started picking up small gift cards for local restaurants, entertainment, and gas—quietly and anonymously gifting them to other cancer patients and caregivers. It didn’t take long to see the impact that even a small "break" could have on these fighters.

After my mom passed away from cancer in 2015, our family founded Just-a-Break from Cancer, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with one simple mission: to provide physical, financial, and emotional "breaks" to cancer patients and their caregivers.

This year, we’re launching an exciting new annual fundraising gala in Ogden. While we’re still finalizing the venue, food, and entertainment, this is your first opportunity to help make this event something truly special. Your support will help us bless the lives of as many local cancer patients as possible.
