We are fundraising $65,000 to keep our band and strings program full-time, through the following activities: the Swing Into Spring Gala fundraiser March 16th, online silent auction, Spring 2025 donation campaign, plus countless fundraisers throughout the year.

The Lake Country School Wildcats Band Booster Club was formed in 2024, with a mission to promote and preserve the band and strings program as a cornerstone of our students’ holistic education. Lake Country School has faced funding challenges, like many schools across the state of Wisconsin, and many of our fine art programs were cut for the 2024-2025 school year, including band to a part-time position. Thanks to tremendous support from the community, we raised enough funds to keep the band program at 100% full time level. In the 2024-2025 school year, 157 students participate in band and strings, ~ 60% of the 4th to 8th graders (compared to national average of 20%). Our program is thriving and is an important pipeline of musicians to Arrowhead High School, and also contribute to the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, The University of Wisconsin Marching Band, and more!

What’s at stake:
The thriving band & strings program – Part-time programs across the state have found it challenging to find qualified staff. The state requirement for offering "instrumental music" for middle school students has been met by offering guitar or drum lessons. Ensemble band and strings programs contribute significant value to our kids and their brain and social development.
